YetepScottish DJ and producer Barry Can’t Swim—who’s better at mixing house, jazz, and club beats than actually swimming—is back with new music. He just dropped two singles, “Different” and “The Person You’d Like to Be,” ahead of his upcoming album Loner, arriving July 11.
Barry described Loner as “the most authentic expression I could offer of myself and my life over the past year,” marking a shift from his earlier work, which paid tribute to the music that inspired him.
“Different” is pure club energy—chopped breaks, sharp synths, and a rolling bassline that feels like it’s on the edge of falling apart.
“The Person You’d Like to Be” takes a darker turn, blending eerie beats with a conversation-style vocal that feels like a therapy session gone wrong in the catchiest way possible.
Barry’s always had a way of blending emotion with rhythm, and Loner sounds like it’s going to take that to a whole new level. Don’t sleep on this one, July 11 is coming fast!
