YetepThe explosive Ohio-born DJ and producer, Crankdat, is back with a ferocious new single, “TYPE SH*T (Feat. Duke Deuce)”. The mind-numbing collaboration with the Los Angeles-based force in the scene, NGHTMRE, is as evocative as it is cathartic – fast-paced, full bodied and turbo charged. “TYPE SH*T” erupts with absolute fervor, plunging listeners deep into the artists’ bone-rattling realm as their bass-heavy production bursts with severity and unrelenting energy. Showcasing his commitment to forging unforgettable sonic experiences, Crankdat entwines past and present, infusing his and NGHTMRE’s signature sounds, as well as Duke Deuce’s indomitable energy as he recreates the lead from the instantly-recognizable 2013 Gesaffelstein hit, “Hellifornia.”
“It the type sh*t that make the club go WILD!!”
The track immediately starts out with a BANG! Machine guns ring out over a bubbling intro and horror-inspired organ notes. The bass and drums gradually rise as a catchy chant builds hype in the background. The chanting evolves and cranks up the volume as it becomes a rap verse welcomed in by scratch effects. Duke Deuce’s tone and delivery add to the hype and heaviness of the track. Sploinky bass and murmuring laser beams guide the track, along with escalating drum effects. The vocals fade out while the drums and laser beams intensify, floating away like stardust into the first drop. This multilayered drop reaches new heights, keeping up a groovy sway that is still heavy enough for headbanging. A second drop build begins. This second drop starts out with the same groove, but transforms into a certified wubfest. Thick bass waves eviscerate everything in its path. Joined by heavy drum effects to maximize devastation. The storm briefly passes, leaving only light drum taps. Duke Deuce continues his dope flow as the elements return. A buzzing wall of bass builds up again, in addition to my favorite hidden sound around the 2:30 mark. Plampy drums help roll in the final drop, as the track ends with a mesmerizing time warp.
“I’m super stoked to finally release this one for you guys. This is my first collab with NGHTMRE, who has been a long-time friend and inspiration of mine. It’s something we’ve talked about for a really long time, but we waited until we had an idea that we felt was right. We put a lot of time and effort into this one to make it as good as possible. Duke Deuce was down to jump on it and contribute his awesome energy too. Every time we play this one you guys go absolutely wild. Excited to finally drop it!”
