warner case Weaves Soaring Melodies Into, ‘the water is warm’

Pop-Electronic hybrid artist warner case recently landed on my radar with his immersive beats and soaring vocal melodies. His musical pallet stretches from Pop to House and Funk. His use of old-school synthesizer sounds give his tracks an organic feel. Emphasizing his Pop-Funk roots. His newest release, “the water is warm” features thick synthesizer effects and deep, longing vocals. His lyrics match the same energy and synch perfectly with the other elements. This title serves as a metaphor for drowning in warm water. Seeing an upside to an otherwise bad situation.

“You cut like a flame. Rippin through my open heart. You show me your game, even though it scares you hard. I’m fading, but the water is warm.”

This passage transitions into the first drop. A gorgeous, melodic tapestry with upbeat drums and bass. The melodies ebb and flow freely. Creating the same sense of freedom from swimming in a vast and warm body of water.

The next verse simultaneously features a need for reassurance and a suspicion that “I know you one day will disappear like everyone.” He seeks reassurance that he will “be okay when my demons show up one by one.” This brings us to the second drop, layered with melodic keyboards and crisp cymbals. Beautiful vocals dance with the beat. Bringing in the next chorus and verse. This verse confesses that he “knew you would go when I saw your face.” This is in response to the person of his affection saying “they know that they want to stay, but he does not get this impression from their signals. The chorus repeats once more, joined by the gorgeous harmonies. Ending the track on a subtle yet passionate note.

The song “water is warm” was a great introduction to the sound of Warner case and gives listeners an idea of what to expect from his extensive catalogue. His pop sensibilities and old school vibes create tracks that hook you and stay stuck in your head.
