YetepWhen it comes to melodic and liquid drum and bass, few artists do it better than DRS. A cornerstone of the genre for nearly three decades, the Manchester-based MC and producer also known as Del-Rok-Ski has built a reputation for seamlessly blending hip-hop lyricism with drum and bass in a way that feels both natural and innovative. His smooth, liquid flow sits effortlessly over rolling percussion, making him one of the most respected and recognisable voices in the scene. On Milestones, Act 1, DRS links up with Zar, a rising force in UK drum and bass known for soulful, atmospheric production and a deep musical touch.
The result is a six-track collaborative release that leans fully into ethereal, liquid drum and bass. Soft, soothing drums and warm melodies form immersive songs that perfectly complement DRS’s on the mic. Milestones, Act 1 is the first chapter in an ongoing partnership, setting the tone for what feels like a longer creative journey between the two artists. If this opening act is anything to go by, fans can expect much more refined, melodic, and emotionally rich drum and bass from this pairing in the future.
