YetepSaturdays are for the Dirtybirds, and today we are showcasing a father of the flock, Justin Martin. He has been bringing us the deep and wobbly vibes since 2003, but for this Spin it back Saturday, we’re hitting play on “Don’t Go” from his 2012 album, Ghettos & Gardens. In its original form,”Don’t Go” is a mellow and melodic tune with soft vocal spit that brings some color to the track. As it was, this track was deeply loved and Dirtybirds all over flocked to catch Martin throw it live. In 2014 Martin released a revamped version along with this sweet note to his fans.
“Dearest dirtybird friends and family,
One of the things I am most thankful for is all of the endless love and support from my amazing fans!! Thank you for letting me do what I love most, which is to make music for you.To show my gratitude I’m giving away this special unreleased version of “Don’t Go” that I made for the dirtybird BBQ’s this summer. I pretty much ended up playing this one in every set so if you came to see me this year then you might remember hearing it. Hopefully it brings back some nice memories:)
ENJOY!
Happy Thanksgiving,
justin martin”
