YetepMasked and anonymous producers have an allure that other DJs just can’t create through their known identity. There’s a mysteriousness to not knowing exactly who the producer is, as well as a type of hypnotism that comes along with live masked performances. For Australian producer Golden Features, he seduced his fans with a beetle and black and gold aesthetic as his guise. After his initial debut, his identity was later revealed to be Tom Stell, but there’s a sweet darkness that still overshadows his music. Listen to his album Sect below and you’ll understand.
Golden Features produces dark house music that is neither spooky or evil but instead has a sweetly ominous quality, and this quality is heightened because of his masked identity. His melodies are smooth, beautiful, and hold a certain indescribable element that creates a desire in his listeners to indulge in his music just a little longer. If your curiosity is peaked, we welcome you to experience Golden Features live when he comes to Shady Park September 21st. Get your tickets here.
