YetepMainstream EDM’s founding father Skrillex is the bearer of many instant classics you’ll find in sets, mixes, and playlists – and at the top of this list you’ll find “Bangarang.” It has an irresistibly wonky drop and Skrillex’s high-pitched dubstep sounds that have become a reference point for new producers today. It’s timeless and has no doubt inspired other creative minds, some not even belonging to EDM producers. One such mind is YouTube legend Tom BetGeorge, who utilized “Bangarang” for a Halloween light show this October. Watch it below for this week’s Watch it Wednesday.
Although it’s technically a Halloween light show, there’s no better way to indulge in the Christmas spirit than by watching lights on a house flicker with the tempo of the music – and to “Bangarang” no less! Tom BetGeorge, known for his infamous Christmas light shows, prepared this experience for Halloween and wrote “I made this show as a free event for the community and as a fundraiser for the McHenry House, a local family shelter here in Tracy, California. It’s only 2 hours a night on weekends to minimize traffic in the neighborhood.” The video alone is entrancing to watch, so to imagine witnessing this in person nearly rivals seeing Skrillex blast this one through live speakers himself.
Skrillex is going to throw down a “bangarang” of a set at this year’s Decadence Arizona on December 30th and 31st. Get your tickets here.
