YetepBear Grillz is coming to the Orpheum Theater in Flagstaff, Arizona, on October 20th! Fresh off the release of The Really Big One, a compilation album featuring him and many other artists on his label, Bear Grillz shows no signs of slowing down. He’s been on a hot streak since 2022, releasing not one, but two albums: Prismata (Light) and Prismata (Dark), each with over 12 unique songs. These albums showcase how Bear Grillz has honed his production skills, not only for bass music, but also for creating beautiful music. He’s here to stay and is currently on the second phase of his Prismata Tour. We’re thrilled to host him in Flagstaff, and this is an event you don’t want to miss.
If you’ve been a fan of electronic music, especially bass music, for a while, you’ve probably heard of Bear Grillz. Performing with his signature bear mask, Bear Grillz has been a staple in the festival and touring scene for some time now. In 2022, he took it to the next level by releasing 25 songs across the two Prismata albums, with each album showcasing a different side of his music. Prismata (Dark) highlights his heavy side with a collection of bass heaters. Every song on this album is a collaboration, featuring artists such as Spag Heddy, Ivory, and Hairitage. Bear Grillz proves that he can still make a crowd headbang. My personal favorite is “Something Real,” a classic bass-heavy dubstep track with high-pitched accents with Mike’s Dead providing rap vocals, adding another level to the song.
Prismata (Light) demonstrates Bear Grillz’s prowess in creating beautiful electronic music. Coming from a primarily heavy DJ, this album is a breath of fresh air, incorporating techniques often used by bass DJs. Focusing on bright major chords, this album reminds me of artists like Seven Lions and ARMNHMR, complete with beautiful vocals. “Now & Forever” is a stunning track featuring vocals from Leslie Powell and is my personal favorite. With a beautiful future bass drop, Bear Grillz captures the hearts and souls of listeners in the most positive way possible.
Bear Grillz’s Prismata Tour is a must-see event. He continues to push boundaries in music and showcases his ever-evolving skills as a bass producer. Get your tickets here!
