Tucson Takeover: Kyle Watson Is Bringing the House

Kyle Watson isn’t new to the game by any means, but he’s making his mark on the house music scene this year. His 2018 album, Into The Morning, put him on the map internationally at the time, and his U.S. debut at CRSSD San Diego was the perfect sunset booking for an artist like him: he quickly became an “if you know you know” type artist for ravers that look for infectious, punchy beats that are playfully unique and extremely recognizable. Now, after back to back viral remixes of classics like “Low Rider” and “Gas Pedal,” he’s getting his well-deserved flowers from one of the fastest growing labels: Experts Only.

Kyle’s newest release, “Bottom of the Rave” is a perfect example of his originality – he taps into the steady paced tech house punch that’s all over the Experts Only label, and spins his wonky, underground kick into the bass line. Each drop gets a little more weird as the simple yet addictive lyrics stay consistent. This type of sound feels like a new era from his old Dirty Bird-esque style and I’m looking forward to see where he takes it.

The excitement is building for his upcoming show at Gentle Ben’s in Tucson on April 11th.
