YetepOne of the fastest growing deep dubstep artists, Die By The Sword, also known as DBTS for short, has just taken a huge step to grow his name within the 140 genre. 140 dubstep, also known as deep dubstep, is easily identifiable by its dark and seemingly slower tempo compared to the newer styles from dubstep like Excision and Slander. The genre is named 140 due to the genre’s 140 beats per minute tempo that is often paired with a deep and heavy bassline. Deep dubstep is often characterized by darker sounding tracks with ominous tines. Die By The Sword is one of the many emerging artists who are pushing the genre back to the main stage.
Debuting on Duploc, Die By The Sword has also had releases on other massive deep dubstep labels such as Morii Records from ENiGMA Dubz. DBTS has only continued to release heavy hitters and his most recent release is no different. Black Mass / Hell, DBTS’s newest two track EP released on Deep Dark and Dangerous to massive success. Deep Dark and Dangerous, the record label founded and curated by New Zealand duo Truth, is one of the fastest growing dubstep record labels thanks to their massive lineup of the best and brightest deep dubstep tallent. Die By The Sword can now be counted among the DDD family after releasing two absolutely mental tracks. “Black Mass” is a perfect introduction to DBTS, as it captures his signature minimal dubstep sound. “Hell” is a dark track with a harsh bassline that rips through the song. Accompanied by a tasteful lyric that makes the drop hit even harder, neither of these tunes are ones you are going to want to miss. Check back here every week for more of the best and brightest new stars and whenever you’re in need of some fresh tunes for your playlist.
