YetepVancouver Island based producer, DJ and singer WHIPPED CREAM has made a name for herself over the last decade. Her iconic vocals, genre-bending production style, and effective feature guests help her stand out and push the boundaries of her sound. Her style greatly varies. Songs like “Who’s Laughing Now” and “CRY” represent the darker and more haunting side to WHIPPED CREAM’s sound. Her vocals take center stage in songs like “Angels” and “Friends“; further demonstrating her incredible versatility as an artist. Projects with artists like Nostalgix and Hekler show off her collaborative spirit and networking skills.
DUSK is being held on November 15th and 16th at Jacome Plaza in Downtown Tucson, not far from The University of Arizona. WHIPPED CREAM is bringing her unique sound to Day Two of the festival, joining notable acts like Deorro and Lupe Fiasco. The doors to DUSK open at 2:30pm and the festival officially kicks off at 3:00pm. Curfew is at 11:00pm sharp. Weekend and single day tickets are available HERE! Tables and extras are available for additional fees. Kids under 10 years old get in free with paid adult admission. WHIPPED CREAM is also hosting the Sunday night Afterparty for Day Two at Gentle Ben’s. Doors for the Afters open at 10:30pm.
WHIPPED CREAM’s newest release through Monstercat is “alive,” a collaboration between herself and Los Angeles based singer No/Me. The song features beautiful keys and subtle House instrumentals. Bass wave reverberate out over electronic squeaks and soaring vocals courtesy of No/Me. The lyrics describe a chance meeting with a new love and the “secret paradise” that is created when they are together. The lyrics then elaborate on the future of this chance encounter, seeing the near endless amount of possibilities.
“Like stars in the sky. We were meant to align. Our secret paradise. This place is paradise. It’s gonna be big. It’s gonna be great. We’re gonna be wild. It’s gonna be fate!”
No/Me’s vocals keep up with the flow of the beat, growing more powerful in the chorus and fading back into the verses. Her voice matches the height of the drop and adds emotion and depth to the track’s sound. The drops are wubby with plenty of bass and wobbly drum effects. Claps bounce off of the grooving bassline, adding more rhythm and groove. The song ends with one last drop while No/Me reassures WHIPPED CREAM and the listener that she is indeed alive.
