YetepSo many big names in one headline. I guess that just goes to show how the world of electronic music works, its all about sharing and making people aware of all the music that is out there. Kaskade premiered his remix of the ever-so-popular Jack U and Justin Bieber track, “Where Are U Now”, back in Palm Beach a couple of weekends ago, but Oliver Heldens had the decency of sharing an HD quality version of the song for all to hear on his radio show, Heldeep Radio episode #051. Take a listen to the podcast, Oliver Heldens sure can craft a catchy mix, but if you’re only interested in the Kaskade remix, skip ahead to 51:30:
This remix takes on many different sounds and could be labeled as a number of different sub-genres. The trappy twonky feel of the original remains, but Kaskade also blends in flavors of deep and progressive house, making for a beautiful and moving remix. The piano pulls us in crafting a melodic introduction that then seduces us further with chimes of astronomical descent. Following, we are introduced to that deep house growl that we have all became so familiar with as of late and finally into a drop that so perfectly mashes all of the aforementioned sub-genres to the point where our senses are completely hypnotized. This mix really does justice to the claims that Kaskade is a master-craft musical genius.
With “Where Are U Now” already taking the musical charts and the world by storm, this mix is sure to further it’s success. I wouldn’t be surprised if this version of the song takes over festivals everywhere this summer and for the rest of the year. And who knows? Maybe we’ll even get a repeat of Ultra Music Festival, a live performance of Diplo, Skrillex, Bieber, with a little bit of Kaskade thrown into the mix… Now that would be a show to catch!
