Punk’D EDC NY Edition: Flosstradamus vs Carl Cox

Carl Cox didn’t know that he was dual DJing his EDC NY set with Flosstradamus… and maybe Floss didn’t either.

Carl’s set started strong with an intense crowd going chaotic. Shortly in, his set was complemented by a bit of commentary from an unidentified microphone-acquiring source.

The “unidentified source,” later identified as Flosstradamus, can be heard saying “All my medical smokers, when I saw grow, you say kush,” and then “turn the f*** up,” in this video. Although he encouraged the crowd to turn up, they understandably turned down due to the un-synchronized collision.

Carl Cox’s Interrupted EDC NY Set

After approximately five minutes of the clashing sets, the confused Cox actually stopped his set and promised to continue once the source of the commentary was identified and silenced. The groove of this EDC tent was shaken up so much, that fans stopped dancing long before Cox cut the music, and an unfortunate amount exited the tent before he started up again.

Did Flosstradamus know his microphone was on? Did they mean to ruin the set or simply add a bit of humor? We don’t know… but Carl Cox probably isn’t too happy about the stolen spotlight.
