YetepIllenium made his mark in 2015 with his remixes of Kaskade’s “Disarm You,” Galantis’ “Gold Dust” and Niykee Heaton’s “Infinity,” but 2016 will be the year he makes waves.
Phoenix Lights 2016 headliner, Nick Miller, known as Illenium, dropped his debut album Ashes on Monday. Within hours, it jumped to the number one electronic music album on iTunes.
And it fully deserves its place at number one.
There are two words to describe this album: Simply beautiful.
Ashes is exactly what we were all hoping for from Illenium. He has created a dreamy masterpiece filled with smooth lyrics mad mixed it with his unique melodic bass.
This album takes listeners on an emotional journey of highs and lows. Illenium took a different approach by steering away from the traditional dance and instrumental tracks and instead included lyric heavy tracks, capturing the attention of even non-EDM listeners. Illenium brought depth and human connection into his electronic tracks, creating something incredibly refreshing.
In a recent Billboard interview, Illenium said that his album was about rebirth and “losing something and being down, and being able to find hope and light in tough places.”
The message of Ashes is pure and relatable to any music lover. Illenium has created a perfect emotional escape that every individual craves.
Ashes contains 10 tracks with two added tracks in the bonus edition.

Purchase Ashes on iTunes.
Don’t miss Illenium’s first performance in Arizona at Phoenix Lights 2016 on Saturday, April 2.
