YetepBorgore, AKA ‘daddy’, is an Israeli DJ and producer known for his dub heavy, sexual beats. His signature sound is sometimes referred to as ‘gorestep’ due to the heavy metal influences and straight up filthiness, but it complements his name pretty well, too. He got his start in 2009 making online mixtapes, Goresteps Most Hated and Ice Cream Mixtape. Borgore raised the bar in 2010 releases with crude tunes, both lyrically and sonically. That same year he started his record label Buygore. Borgore’s debut album, #NEWGOREORDER, appeared on Dim Mak Records in July 2014.
This week’s Relentless Beat of the Week shows another side of Borgore, and happens to be one of my favorites from him– “Best.”
Borgore – Best (Official Music Video)
“Best” is a little different than what we’re used to hearing from Borgore. His classic dubstep sound has been replaced with a melodic tune. There’s a soothing sexiness to Jenna Curtis’ vocals that compliments the subtle breakdowns. The video is just as compelling as the song. It tells of a mob boss a husband, his wife, and his mistress that results in a surprising finale. It is definitely one not to pass on!
Borgore is truly one of the ‘best’ in the business and we can’t wait to have him on April 29th, joining Diplo, Audien, Wax Motif and many more for Wet Electric! Get tickets here.
