SLUMBERJACK Hits the Jackpot with New EP

SLUMBERJACK has been a main provider of bangers in the EDM world for the past few years, with releases remixing everyone from Porter Robinson to What So Not, the Aussie duo knows how to get a crowd up and jumping.

Recently, they continued their streak with a brand new EP, Fracture. Released on Mad Decent, the 5 track EP is one of the best I’ve heard in awhile. Starting with “Afraid, Unafraid,” they start us off with fresh lyrics and swaying synths, a perfect track to kick off the rest of the music. First getting the feels flowing, they then move on to something a little more hard-hitting.

Next comes “Paralyse,” which I think is incredibly unique, even for SLUMBERJACK. This track shimmers with dragging synths and powerful vocals that lead into strange dystopian murmurs. This song travels from emotional to wickedly vicious in a matter of minutes.

The third track, featuring KLP is titled “Take Me,” and follows the ominous vibe from the last track. Every drop has a different twist that heightens the spacey underground tone of the EP. This track is definitely harder than the others, but still has an underlying emotional feel.

“Cradle the Grave” is next, and has peaks of instrumental beauty. Right from the start, ethnic tones and sounds of nature flood the track. This song makes you want to run away on a journey into the wild. There is a perfect balance of chaos and synergy.

Last but not least we have “Fracture.” The perfect close to the EP, SLUMBERJACK leaves us wanting more with sensual vocals and a soulful build. This future bass marathon is incredibly concluded.
