Arizona was once one of the biggest mining states in the U.S. Now it is about to experience a modern day gold rush. This experience involves the perfect marriage of rap and EDM in a two-day festival. The lineup is stacked with solid artists who are set to blow. Here is a list of 5 artists gaining attention and playing the Goldrush Festival.
The American rags to riches success story known as Ghastly has released songs on OWSLA, Buygore, and Dim Mak and wowed thousands with his aggressive trap and bass house stylings. The artist, who once lived out of his van, now drops funky hybrid styles influenced by his metal beginnings. His collaborations with NGHTMRE and Jameston Thieves and the track “We Might Fall” featuring Matthew Koma are only furthering his meteoric rise.
Even before the South Florida rapper dropped his self-titled debut album, he forced music critics and fans to take notice with his extremely energetic, in-yo-face style. Lil Pump’s music and his new album are catchy, hyperactive meme rap spectaculars. His speaker rattling beats match his loud, attention-grabbing image. It’s all exciting and fresh as the 17-year old is shaking up rap with cuts like “D Rose” and “Gucci Gang.” As he would say, “ESKEDDDDDDDITTT.”
Dutch artist, San Holo, is no stranger to Relentless Beats. The company has brought him and his crisp as a freshly ironed white shirt trap and future bass production to Arizona before. Since then he’s only continued to grow. He dropped an unforgettable set at EDC 2017 and since then has played all over the world and the U.S. His nasty, bass-heavy sets are can’t miss if you appreciate those ugghhh face melting, neck snapping sounds.
Rezz, whose stage appearance looks like the human version of the Gorillaz Noodlez is someone to watch. Those in attendance and the thousands watching the live stream at home revered her hypnotic, head nodding set at EDC 2017. She followed it up with the album, Mass Manipulation, which featured her signature crunchy bass lines and was released through deadmau5’s record label, mau5trap Recordings.
Flatbush rappers, AKTHESAVIOR and Issa Gold, signed to Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label in 2012 and have not stopped gaining momentum since with a new release being dropped annually. In 2017, it was the Renaissance, which was released in May. The gritty and grimey duo bring a ton of energy live just like their homies the Flatbush Zombies, who are also playing the Goldrush Festival. The video to “Crescendo,” off of Renaissance, is currently blowing up as it has done a million pluse views in 2 months.
Catch all 5 artists this year at the Goldrush Fest on November 18-19. Make sure you grab your tickets now, they’re going fast!
