YetepOriginating in the UK, grime developed out of UK garage and jungle music correlated with developing electronic components. Today, grime is underrated in the U.S., as the term “grime” is usually associated with a sound derived from dubstep. One familiar group with roots in grime would be Stooki Sound as one of their recent EPs, Ösiris, displays the aggressive-front vocals and experimental foundation.
Even though grime has been circulating throughout speakers for almost two decades, Spotify recently decided to give the genre a home on their list of sounds. So, now that the genre is officially recognized on the platform, it is without a doubt that it will receive more recognition in the United States.
