Liquid Stranger
With 6 highly acclaimed full-length albums under his Liquid Stranger moniker, this multi-talented producer has established himself as the epitome of trans-national dubstep, covering everything from Latin, Asian, Eastern European and Jamaican Dancehall dubs. His first two albums, ‘The Invisible Conquest’ and ‘The Intergalactic Slapstick’ (Interchill 2007 & 2009), generated a substantial buzz with DJs and listeners alike while his next two albums, ‘The Private Riot’ and ‘Mechanoid Meltdown’ (Rottun Recordings 2010) made a firm imprint in the dubstep community worldwide, topping the download charts for over a month. In 2011 Liquid Stranger released two more albums on Interchill; The Arcane Terrain and the downtempo masterpiece, Cryogenic Encounters. The tune Bombaclaad Star on The Arcane Terrain went on to win the 2012 Beatport Music Awards in the Reggae/Dub genre, in spite of being given away for free a month prior to release. A number of Liquid Stranger’s tracks on Interchill have been licensed to extreme sports movies. With a growing number of remixes bearing his signature touch, the Liquid Stranger sound is in high demand as it continues to reach increasingly wider audiences. Ajapai
Ajapai is easily one of the sickest dubstep producers on the scene. Hailing from Tokyo, Japan, the music he conjures up is like no other- a constant barrage of unique noises tailored to be a pure assault of the senses right from the get go. His first dubstep release ‘What do you hear?’ hit #3 on the Beatport charts and put him firmly on the map as a force to be reckoned with. It wasn’t long before he joined the growing stable of talent on Rottun Recordings. He also started up his own label, Ajapai Entertainment, which has numerous successes including a remix of “Incoming” ended up getting #1 on Beatports drum n bass chart. It even went on to secure a Beatport Annual award, which is testament to the fact that this man means business.
School of Rock is a two room venue with staging and bar located in the heart of downtown Tempe on Mill Ave. School of Rock recently hosted our R3HAB event and has been home to UK Thursdays since it’s move to Tempe.
