YetepImagine walking into a club, the beat of your favorite progressive track pulsating the furniture around you, and then seeing female dancers hang from the ceiling, looking like you’re walking into a mystical forest. Welcome to LIGHT Nightclub.
Guy Laliberté, CEO of Cirque De Soleil, has new plans for Vegas nightlife, combining two of the cities most defining factors: its music and its entertainment.
Opening in Mandalay Bay on April 26, LIGHT Nightclub will be the first ever Cirque De Soleil endeavor with EDM. The first phase of resident DJs has been booked and the list includes some all stars including 6-time Grammy winner Skrillex, Harlem Shake phenom Baauer, crowd pleaser Zedd and Swedish House Mafia member Sebastian Ingrosso, along with many others.
“The LIGHT Skrillex show is gonna be only in Vegas,” Skrillex told Rolling Stone. “I want it be distinct to the LIGHT club because the configuration is so customizable, it’s f***ing crazy. That’s the thing about the club, too: they can do anything, so it’s how you maximize the dynamic of a great show with all their f***ing bells and whistles and all of their budgets and resources to do anything.”
With Electric Daisy Carnival’s fairly recent move to Vegas, including the full “EDC Week”, massive EDM residencies at Marquee and XS/Surrender, and the soon to be open Hakkasan Nightclub, Vegas is no stranger to the electronic music scene.
Yet, LIGHT Nightclub will be an entirely different clubbing experience, giving the theatrics and the nightlife all in one location.
