Eric Prydz Reigns As BBC Radio 1’s “Essential Mix Of The Year” Winner

Eric Prydz’ February take over of Pete Tong’s Essential Mix has been named “Essential Mix of the Year”.

The two-hour mix included tracks by Prydz’ protégé, Jeremy Olander, and tracks by Prydz’ alter egos, Pryda and Cirez D. His 2013 singles, “Power Drive”, “Layers” and “Rotonda” made into the non-stop mix. Over 65 DJs were featured in Essential Mix including Claude VonStroke, Disclosure, Duck Sauce, Armin van Buuren, Skrillex, Dirty South and Duke Dumont.

This year has been filled with high honors for the Swedish producer that included a Grammy nomination for his remix of M83’s “Midnight City”. Prydz also made the festival rounds with headlining spots at Ultra, Coachella, EDC Las Vegas and HARD Day of the Dead. His North American tour, “EPIC 2.0”, was a stunning 3D visual masterpiece that left fans in awe at the level of showmanship Prydz delivered to cities like New York City and Chicago.
