YetepFirst Disney tried to block Deadmau5 from trademarking his logo. A legal battle was imminent. In response, the Deadmau5 had ridiculed Disney on Twitter and eventually called out the company publicly for using one of his songs in a cartoon without his permission. He sent them a cease-and-desist letter.

“OK, mouse, I never gave Disney a license to use my track,” he had said in a tweet, linking to a Disney video titled “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff Re-Micks.” The video caption reads, “Enjoy a spooky cartoon Re-Micks to the tune of Deadmau5’s ‘Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff,'” perhaps the his biggest song.
It just keeps going… Now, in a statement to Rolling Stone, Disney has issued their first public response to Deadmau5’s claims. “Disney vigorously protects its trademark rights, and we oppose Mr. Zimmerman’s attempt to register a logo that is nearly identical to our trademarks for his commercial exploitation,” a Disney spokesperson said. “Our opposition is not about the use of the Deadmau5 costume. The music was appropriately licensed, and there is no merit to his statement.”
