YetepAndrew Bayer has now revealed more music from his experimental, hotly anticipated Do Androids Dream EP, out now via Anjunabeats. A sonically ambitious journey through the producer’s diverse sound, the five-track EP will be accompanied by an 11-date North American tour.
Written as a cohesive two-parter within the continuous five-track EP, Do Androids Dream Pt. 1 & 2 will be familiar to anyone who has watched Andrew’s recent performances, including his set at Madison Square Garden. Specially made for the dance floor, and specifically to open Andrew’s live performances, they begin with massive chords and an emotional melody, giving the listener an idea of the emotional roller coaster they’re about to ride.
“I wrote Do Androids Dream PT 1 & 2 specifically for my first ‘Do Androids Dream’ tour,” Andrew describes. “It was a really interesting experience, as it is a set opener for me, and really sets the mood in a unique way for my gigs. The two tracks together are nearly 10 minutes of music, and vary stylistically throughout.”
“I opted for something bright and optimistic, as opposed to my usual darker set openers with influences from my older music,” he continued. “I wanted to take longer with the arrangements, take a step back, and have something progress progressively. The dynamics in arrangement in a lot of modern dance music has been lost I think, and I am trying to incorporate some more dynamics, take my time with the arrangements, and sonics on this EP.”
