Matthew Koma’s New Single With RCA Records is ‘So F**kin Romantic’

Matthew Koma has fittingly been named a musical triple threat as he takes on being a songwriter, vocalist, and producer leaving little question as to why Entertainment Tonight named him “the Man with EDM’s Golden Touch.” Inspired by Elvis Costello and Bruce Springsteen, Koma started his music career in punk rock, later transitioning into a mixture of genres ranging from pop and hip hop to EDM. Koma’s early collaborations include work with Hardwell, Zedd, Miriam Bryant, Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso, Tiesto and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic. His collaborations with Zedd have been his most notable accomplishments to date with their song “Spectrum” being premiered by Rolling Stone and spending two weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Dance Club chart, and the infectiously popular “Clarity”, a  #1 Billboard single GRAMMY-award winning song.

Koma has fully emerged as a solo artist over the past year, making waves as he performed at a number of summer festivals including Coachella, Ultra Music Festival, iTunes Festival London, EDC Las Vegas, Goa’s Sunburn Festival and many more. This year he’s continuing on the live circuit and bringing the heat in Ibiza including BBC Radio 1’s Creamfields stage, and now looks towards more international dates in Shanghai, Tokyo, Mexico City and more.
RCA Records is proud to announce their signing with Koma not as a composer, as he has accustomed us lately, this time the hitmaker returns with his own music. Koma has premiered his unexpected new single called “So F**kin’ Romantic“, a dreamy and catchy pop gem, demonstrating once again his great talent and building on the evolution of his sound. An interesting mix between a deep house production, melodic word play, a touch of sax and of course that pop-Koma essence.

“I naturally gravitate towards writing pretty serious songs, so I tried to balance the black coffee this time, and write something a little more light-hearted. My favorite songs tend to be ballads or heart-break-on-a-sleevers, but sometimes you just need to lighten the f’ up. ‘So F**kin’ Romantic’ is a caricature. It’s when you look in the mirror in the right lighting at the right time with the right Instagram filter, and have those few seconds of over-confidence where you’re Ryan Gossling’s middle ab and a John Hughes soundtrack is playing. It was fun to write, and it feels fun listening to it.”
