YetepPhoenix to Los Angeles transplant Ghastly today unveils his latest track ‘Get On This’ via Mad Decent. Marking his debut on the label, the hard-hitting original embodies Ghastly’s hybrid bass house style, which has been largely recognized by some of the genre’s biggest players like Skrillex, Diplo, Dillon Francis, Tchami, DJ Snake, Zeds Dead among others.
It is quite fitting for Ghastly to be releasing one of his first original productions via the now heralded Mad Decent imprint. After all, it was label boss Diplo’s unique approach to bass-styled music that played a momentous role in shaping the unique hues that highlight Ghastly’s present day soundscape.
‘Get On This’ features a fittingly funk flared electro lead in the breakdown, before erupting into a release that is assuredly its own in terms of style. Building upon past releases in bass house like the now infamous ‘Crank It’, the drop is an aggressive combination of high end manipulation sitting over a hotbed of bass.
‘Get On This’ comes on the heels of a prolific production binge that has seen Ghastly release some of the biggest releases in bass house this year, including the colossal ‘Crank it’ with Mija and Lil’ Jon, the original mixes ‘Every Night’ and ‘Lil Trick’, ‘Bitch U Ghastly’, and his take on NGHTMRE’s and SLANDER’s ‘Warning’.
