Describing Zedd and what makes him totally different in the EDM world is incredibly hard. After all, he does produce electronic music, but Zedd says himself that he does not consider himself an EDM artists. He is electro-based, but he says he really emphasizes great melodies in his albums instead of making people always want to jump. With a nice hint of pop and house, Zedd has placed himself easily on the cusp.
Humbled beginnings, Zedd signed onto his first record label, Lifeforce Records in 2002. Zedd says his discovery was all due to Skrillex. Zedd sent Skrillex a remix of “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites.” Skrillex replied to his message asking for the full song so he could play it tonight. Needless to say Zedd was discovered, and Skrillex became his mentor.
In 2012, Zedd signed on with Interscope Records. Zedd then produced his debut album, “Clarity,” featuring the title track with Foxes that went on to claim Best Dance Recording at the Grammy’s.
In recent news, Zedd’s second album, “True Colors,” was released early 2015. “True Colors” was an absolute hit featuring tracks like “I Want You to Know” with Selena Gomez, “Beautiful Now” with Jon Bellion, and many others.
“Adrenaline” was his most recent release and boy does that song get the heart pumping. What else can make your adrenaline kick in? Zedd will be helping Arizona welcome 2017 at this year’s Decadence along with other hot names like Chainsmokers, Jauz, Porter Robinson and so many more. Buy your ticket now!
