December 12, 2024
It’s the weekend that so many of us fellow Bass Heads have been looking forward to! Boo! Arizona 2016 is here finally and the folks here at Relentless Beats have been working very hard alongside Insomniac to bring together what is going to be one of the best weekend in all of Arizona’s history. Featuring a line up with Knife Party, Excision, Snails, NGHTMRE, Ghastly, G Jones, & Wuki there’s really no reason to wonder why this event will be huge!
But that’s not all we have for you this weekend. We highly encourage you to start the BOO! pregame this Thursday with Billy Kenny & Maximono at Monarch, and continue it on into Friday with Donald Glaude at Gypsy Bar or Giraffage at Shady Park. Get the lowdown on this week’s happenings below!
10/13 – Billy Kenny + Maximono @ Monarch Theatre
Billy Kenny is a British producer, DJ, and sound engineer, who now resides in Germany and is seen as one of the most influential ambassadors in Germany for the sound he represents. He is widely known for producing the lower frequencies of UK Garage, House, and Techno — his sound is usually described as grungy and aggressive for house music. Since his success kicked off in 2014, Billy has been constantly releasing high-quality bangers for well-known house record labels across the world such as Dirtybird, Sweat It Out, Heldeep, and his co-run German imprint “This Ain’t Bristol“. Check out his recent release on “This Ain’t Bristol” with Maximono to prepare fans for their upcoming tour “One Night Stand”.
A fresh duo of former Drum&Bass producers from London and Hannover have arrived on the House scene causing all sorts of chaos with their ‘no rules’ mix of bass music, hip hop, jungle, trap and even oriental beats. Constantly pushing boundaries and exploring sounds, spaces and scenes, MAXIMONO are hitting the biggest labels in the game (CUFF, DIRTYBIRD, THIS AIN’T BRISTOL) creating grooves, mixing beats and turning dance floors into their very own wild paradise!

10/14 – Donald Glaude @ Gypsy Bar
Donald Glaude is an American house DJ & producer who is constantly remarked by DJ Mag as one of the top 100 DJs today. Growing up classically trained and soon finding his way over to funk, Donald had always messed around with tape decks from his childhood. Glaude puts out mixtapes on his soundcloud titled “This Is Me” in where he demonstrates his musical and turntablism skills. The latest volume he put on is his 22nd edition and he called it his Sundown Edition since he had just spun there a couple weeks ago, probably pretty similar to what he played there. Although he comes from a funk and classical background, Glaude still knows how to go deeper than any other DJ out there to really get you moving your hips. Check it out below!

10/14 – Giraffage – The Bring Me Your Love Tour @ Shady Park
Giraffage is San Francisco-based producer and beat guru, Charlie Yin. His signature sound of electronic pop has won him praise from musical tastemakers Pitchfork, FADER and XLR8R. He’s been coined as making “bedroom beats”, but with an artist as diverse as Giraffage, who takes influence from a variety of sources and regularly uses samples in his tacks to give a unique sound, you never know exactly what you’re going to get. Giraffage has been touring off and on since 2013, sharing the stage with artists like Porter Robinson and making festival lineups around the country like Hard Summer and Life Is Beautiful. He recently released the single “Bring Me Your Love” and hints that a new album or EP could be in the works!

10/15 – BOO! Arizona 2016 @ Rawhide Event Center
The moment all of our local Bass Heads have been waiting for. The biggest and baddest event of the year is now here. For people who don’t know of the history of Boo and where it has been already, it debuted in New York City in 2014, and then in 2015 made it’s way over to the complete opposite side of the United States in San Francisco. The last two days in October had everyone dancing under the Halloween moon, celebrating all things enchanting, otherworldly and magical for this festival. This year the festival expanded to 2 more cities: Dallas & Phoenix! It’s the perfect pregame for Halloween night as the best low frequency producer come together for a night of earth-rattling bass that include Knife Party, Excision, Snails, NGHTMRE, Ghastly, G Jones and Wuki. Absolutely filthy.
