Anjunabeats is a British record label, started by producers Jonathan “Jono” Grant and Paavo Siljamäki in 2000. The label exclusively released trance music until around 2011 when it moved in more trance and house sounds, commonly referred to as “trouse” music. And on December 1st, they will be making a stop in none other than the Valley of the Heat to play some of their significantly signature music! This year’s annual Anjunadeep tour is the biggest yet with six artists spread across 16 dates. Yotto with headline each one, alongside “Future Eyes” producer Theo Kottis. The pair will be joined off an on by Lutrell, who you may know as one-half of the M Machine, Jody Wisternoff, Gab Rhome, and Clarian.
Here in Phoenix we will be seeing 3 of those artists at none other than our favorite Monarch Theatre with Luttrell, Theo Kottis, and Yotto. To give you a little preview of what the week will contain we wanted to pick a song from each of these artists so you can be a little more familiar with their style and what they will be doing when they are finally in town
Luttrell
There are two sides to everything, and it turns out that The M Machine’s Eric Luttrell has a little bit of a deep house lover hidden away inside his soul. He’s ready to introduce another facet of his artistry to the world, and as he prepares to walk out of the M Machine’s bountiful safety net, he gives us his first step. “Stormwatcher” is nothing short of beautiful, full of exciting emotion and the sound of the color blue. It’s one of four tracks on his debut EP Need You which came out on Anjunadeep Friday, Oct. 21. Annie Mac called it her favorite song of the week. “I wrote ‘Stormwatcher’ on one of the rare rainy nights we had here in (San Francisco) last winter,” Luttrell says in an emailed statement. “It’s absolutely the darkest and grittiest song of the release, both in attitude and sonic texture. But to me, the uplifting atmospheric harmonies and melodies help keep the feeling of hope and positivity that I’ve tried to weave through the entire Need You EP.”

Theo Kottis
Summer 16 has shaped up nicely for Theo Kottis; with EP releases on Anjunadeep, Moda Black, and Sasha’s Last Night On Earth, plus a slew of festival dates scheduled – he is certainly living up to the hype, created by none other than Pete Tong. Coming from humble beginnings, he has learnt his craft amongst legends at renowned venues, including as a resident at Glasgow’s Sub Club. Sometimes dark, sometimes uplifting, always emotive; Theo is truly obsessive about his approach to music. As a DJ he’s already performed at Rockness, T In The Park, Hideout and Glasgow’s legendary Sub Club, and that’s purely down to his talents in the booth. Now, with a blossoming production career, Theo has found a whole new way to convey his passion for music and convert his wide range of influences and experiences into substantive club compositions.

Yotto
Otto Yliperuttula, better known as Yotto, is the architect of an emotional style of dance music that is structurally rooted in house-music yet swims in between the club and the comfort of your couch. Having already garnered support from the likes of Pete Tong, Sasha, Laurent Garnier, Kölsch, Gorgon City, Kidnap Kid, and Thugfucker, it’s impossible to overlook the promise of his young career. Yotto’s ability to cross genres and labels is what sets him apart as an artist, his diversity and refusal to be defined is what makes him one of the most appealing new artists in dance music. Check out his single he released on Anujadeep just over a month ago!
