Decadence Duos: Why We Love Them So Much

DJ Duo’s seem to be blowing up, and this year’s Decadence Arizona lineup features some of the best duos around. There’s just something about duos we love– twice the creativity, twice the energy, twice the fun!

The Chainsmokers (Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall) are probably the most popular duo in the country right now. With numerous hit singles including Roses, Don’t Let Me Down, and many more, these two have bridged the gap between electronic and mainstream success. They’re debut EP Bouquet was a massive success and “Closer” topped the charts in the US, the UK, and eleven other countries. The influence of this duo is undeniable

Disclosure is a family affair, consisting of brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence. Both their parents have careers within the music industry, so this seems like an obvious path for the pair. “Latch” featuring Sam Smith put them on the map and gained them huge recognition. Their studio album Settle was nominated as the Best Dance Album at the 2014 Grammy Awards. They call their sound “electronic house music with a pop style”. They’re known for their elaborate live shows and visuals; we can’t wait to see what they bring us on the 30th!

Tritonal is a DJ duo that was formed in 2008 by Chad Cisneros and David Reed. Their debut album, Piercing the Quiet, had eight tracks go top 20 on the Beatport charts and their follow-up album of remixes was at the top of the iTunes charts as well. They have a strong following of “tritonaians” as their called. As co-owners of Enhanced Records and hosts of the successful radio show, Tritonia, it’s clear these are some hard working men. We’re sure that energy and work ethic will carry over to their set at Decadence!

Slander, consisting of Derek Anderson and Scott Land, have been making waves since they burst onto the scene in 2013. Their remix of Showtek‘s “We Like to Party” established them as a trap powerhouse within the industry. A surprise set on the Nocturnal mainstage in 2014 forced them into the mainstream eye and it’s all taken off from there. For anybody who’s been following this duo since the beginning, they know how much they’ve grown. The pair are considered creators of the genre “heaven-trap”, producing music that provides the bass and the feels. It’s something that nobody else does quite like them; check it out for yourself when they’re at Decadence on the 31st!
