YetepVideo game music is a genre in its own, well influenced by electronic forms of music production. From the point of view of electronic music producers, video game music has offered influence in return with a plethora of sample-packed tunes. Artists such as Porter Robinson, Eric Prydz, and Deadmau5 are very vocal about their love for video games and the noises that inhabit them.
As an homage to dj’s with a passion for video games, the creators of World of Warcraft have released an update with pieces of armor named after famous tracks from the respective artists. A necklace called “Prydaz, Xavaric’s Magnum Opus” and spaulders called “Unison Spaulders” are among these pieces included in the update. If you take a look below, you can see that the comments attached to the the armor pieces highlight why the game designers chose the two producers.

The comments for the Prydaz necklace sum up the entire vibe of Eric Prydz’ popular track “Opus” with a simple sentence stating “Bearers of this amulet whistle a haunting tune, and those nearby attest to a distant cry of anguish between the notes.” The spaulders also reference lyrics that Porter incorporates into his live sets on a regular basis. The world of video games takes and contributes material with the electronic music community and the results are consistently spectacular.
