Relentless Beat of the Week: Dr. Fresch – “No Love” ft. TLC

Tony Fresch, or Dr. Fresch on the stage, has been climbing his way to the top since 2013. He introduced Dr. Fresch as an artist with a set of remixes relased on Dim Mak Records. In 2013 he also won Insomniac’s Discovery Project which landed him a time slot at Nocturnal Wonderland in California. He relased his Debut EP, Fantasy / Ecstasy, later that year. Fstforward to today and Dr. Fresch is playing major shows around the country, touring, and producing some of the best beats around.

This Relentless Beat of the Week is Dr. Fresch’s “No Love” ft. TLC. It’s a fun track that put’s a new spin on an old favorite.

This track, released earlier this year, features a sample from the classic TLC song “No Scrubs”. He chops it, plays with the vocals and adds a deep bass that gives this tune a new edge. With the release Fresch said, “My goal with ‘No Love’ was to take elements of 90’s Hip Hop and R&B and place them within the context of my “Future Ghetto” style. I chose TLC because “No Scrubs” is a true staple of 90’s R&B culture, and I wanted to see how vocal elements from the classic could convey a different vibe when paired with deeper instrumentation.” He’s done just that and created something totally original that’s dance floor ready.
