YetepBack in October, Canadian duo Zeds Dead released their first official album, ‘Northern Lights.’ The album, featuring collaborations with Diplo and NGHTMRE and vocalists/rappers Pusha T, Elliphant, and GG Magree is a complete knockout and refreshing effort from Zeds Dead showcasing their crazy talent and experimentation with new styles.
The men of Zeds Dead, Hooks and DC, embarked on their Northern Lights Tour on September 29th taking on 42 cities around the globe and brought along supporting acts Big Wild, Illenium, Ghastly, Hunter Seigel, Unlike Pluto, Oshi, Memorecks, and Nebbra at select shows.
I had the pleasure of attending the Northern Lights stop here in Az at the Marquee, and it was everything I expected it to be. Unfortunately, Hooks was unable to attend that specific show due to illness, but the performance still managed to exceed expectations with half of the duo missing. The set included the perfect balance of Zeds Dead originals and tracks from the new album maintaining an indescribable energy. For anyone who’s a die hard ZD fan, I think you can agree that the show was incredible.
To wrap up the tour, Zeds Dead has shared an epic recap video in all of it’s glory displaying the tour’s most worthy candid moments, and watching it made me feel like I was there in the crowd all over again. The duo shared a heartfelt message to their fans on Facebook with the release of the recap video: “We couldn’t do any of this without your DEADICATION! This video is for every one of you that supported our new album and came to our shows. It’s been exactly a month since we wrapped up the Northern Lights tour so we put together this video as a thank you. Getting to play some of our favourite cities around the world and seeing you all react to these new songs is something we’ll never forget. Can’t wait to see you all during festival season!”
