YetepIn 2013, an artist who calls himself Electric Mantis, was unexpectedly discovered on the internet. Wyatt Pearson was just another bedroom producer with the dream of making it big. On Reddit, he posted a song he created titled “Flips and Flops, Drips and Drops,” and had no idea what it’s outcome would bring.
After endlessly sending his music to labels and artists, it came to Wyatt’s surprise that all it took for him to burst onto the scene was an endorsement from Djemba Djemba after they discovered the track and it went straight to the front page of Reddit.
Since then, Wyatt has blossomed into Electric Mantis, and his talent and fanbase have expanded immensely. His production style is groovy and lighthearted, with dreamy floating synths and a funky aura. Some of Electric Mantis’ most popular work includes remix work for Porter Robinson, Gramatik and Giraffage, as well as his own originals, “Daybreak” and “The One.”
He has dropped his unique brand of future funk as a guest on countless tours including Mija and Jai Wolf. Insomniac named Electric Mantis their Essential Artist of the Month in 2016, and he also signed with AMonly, which is one of the most prolific dance music agencies.
Electric Mantis will be opening for Kill Paris at Shady Park on May 26th. You won’t want to miss this one, as the music is just as intimate as the venue. Get tickets here.
