YetepNever one to be pigeon-holed into a genre, the London-based producer and DJ Riva Starr consistently remains one of the most exciting talents in dance music. Year after year he throws everything from Tech House to Indie Dance and Electronica our way and just when you think you know Riva Starr, he’ll probably confuse you with yet another side to his musical personality. Don’t call him fickle, though. Try bored. Try excitable. Try unpredictable… And then some!
This week’s RB Deep in the Mix comes from Riva Starr’s guest spot on Traxsource LIVE, a guide to the underground that features the hottest guests and the finest dance music every week.
This mix took place earlier this year and as you probably expected, full of underground variety. He opens it with an original, “The Flame,” and sprinkles in some Joe Red, Nathan Barato and Moodymann throughout. The mix sits right at an hour and presents a groovy club vibe that’s perfect heading into the weekend.
