3/17: Monster Outbreak Tour Presents: Kayzo – Overload Tour, Phoenix @ The Van Buren
With a huge EP releasing just this past week with Lil Will, and a debut album shortly before that, Kayzo is on fire right now! Kayzo, born Hayden Capuozzo in Los Angeles, is known for his integration of trap and hardstyle genres. He got his start in early 2012, releasing single after single on different record labels, including his own, Doghouse Recordings. The latest 11-track LP release, Overload, lives up to the Kayzo name while incorporating elements from outside genres and he’s taking the whole project on tour. In an interview with Billboard, he said, “Overload pays tribute to my youth and the musical styles of rock and pop punk that helped get me through my toughest times.” Alongside Kayzo will be special guest 4B, Dubloadz, Gammer, and JSTJR.

3/15: Drezo presents Evil Live Tour – Flagstaff @ Orpheum
Phoenix-native and Los Angeles-based DJ and producer Drezo is making huge moves. In a music scene full of tiring trends, it’s rare for an artist to break the mold and make a statement creatively that people can connect to. Drezo challenges the mainstream standard by staying true to his own powerful underground sounds of house music. Through his compositions and remixes, the producer aims to represent the darker and more imaginative side of EDM. With releases on OWSLA & Mad Decent, Drezo has proven that his haunting surge of originality is being accepted by the masses. For this stop, Drezo is bringing k?d and Ryan Collins to kick off the party.

3/16: Sacha Robotti at BFF @ Bar Smith
Sacha Robotti, yes that’s really his name, is one of the fastest-rising stars in the tech house realm. The German-bred DJ developed a love for music at an early age and now he’s producing at a level well beyond his years. He released his first single in 2010 and joined the famed Dirtybird label in 2012. His smile is as infectious as his beats and his unique, innovative sound has created a subgenre of its own. As a key member of the Dirtybird fam, Sacha knows how to start a party–and keep it going all night long! He’s played at major festivals across the country like Lightning in a Bottle, EDC, Coachella and Burning Man just to name a few.

3/17: Luigi Madonna @ Monarch Scarlet
Italian DJ and producer Luigi Madonna is no newbie when it comes to the world of techno. The artist got his start as a youngster in 1996, where he began to learn the trade while experimenting with his own style. He arrived at minimal techno. Starting with small club gigs in the region, Luigi began expanding as he rose in the industry, and eventually played Old River Park, a legendary venue in techno’s history. What sets Luigi apart from the rest are his live sets. His enthusiasm is infectious as he commands his booth with a strong, yet graceful presence. He often opts for long, adventurous blends, making him a favorite at many clubs and festivals, as well as a frequent guest on many high-profile radio shows.

3/18: Ardalan + Mikey Lion – Tempe @ Shady Park
Range, appeal and a massive dose of nasty, gritty bass are the three chief weapons every Dirtybird artist has in his quiver, but Ardalan seems to be the peak culmination of all those assets in one wieldy point. This young archer has had the incomprehensible luck to fall into crew with his idols, be reared by their best and given some of their most guarded musical secrets, then hoisted to a platform to blare his prodigious beats from places where most creators can only dream of being. Born in Tehran, Iran, Ardalan possesses a peculiar, fresh perspective on music genesis without even trying.
At the forefront of the Desert Hearts movement is Mikey Lion, a San Diego-based DJ and producer with a reputation for the bizarre. Lion has brought his unique, high-energy stage presence to such festivals as Lightning in a Bottle, Burning Man, and Coachella. He’s earned the support of Claude VonStroke, Jamie Jones, and Green Velvet, to name a few, all while developing an idiosyncratic sound to complement his signature top hat. It’s hard to miss Mikey Lion.
