Yetep18-year old Whethan continues to level up. Skrillex, Charli XCX, and Flux Pavilion are just some of the artists he has worked with and the list is always growing. Now we get this track, “Be Like You” featuring Georgia Nott, from the dance-pop group Broods, that is both festival-ready and thought-provoking. Whethan’s production is airy while Georgia Nott’s lyrics are hypnotizing. Then the track morphs into a crunchy bass track with laser-sharp synths. Check it out below.
The song was released as a lyric video signifying the importance to the artists. Broods said this to Billboard about the track: “the song is about a stage when we felt that nothing was really about the music anymore and that you have to be so many other things to be a pop artist these days other than just writing good songs, I guess it’s an expression of how frustrating it can be when you only want to do it for the music.” Seriously sincere appreciation for artists doing it for the music because this is the end result. Can I get an amen?
