YetepKevin Pouya is a Miami, Florida rapper who goes by Pouya. He’s released several mixtapes and acclaimed LPs as well as collaborated with well-known artists like Ghostemane, $uicideboy$, and Ying Yang Twins to name a few. What makes Pouya unique is his refreshing approach to the hip-hop scene. He’s known for going against the status quo, avoiding the mainstream hip-hop world as much as he can. He has his own label, Buffet Boys, and has actually never released on anything else.
For this week’s Watch it Wednesday, check out Pouya’s music video for ”Void” off his FIVE FIVE mixtape released last year.
Pouya – Void [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO]
Not your typical hip-hop video, “Void” follows Pouya around the swamps of Florida. He’s brutally sunburned as he navigates through marshes on a boat in his underwear and later wanders around with night vision goggles dodging gators. Directed by Julian Yuri Rodriguez, this video is one of a kind, but it’s fitting for the Florida-bred artist.
You can catch Pouya at this year’s Goldrush Festival, taking place September 27th and 28th at Rawhide Western Town in Chandler. The first phase of artist announcements have included Alison Wonderland, Don Diablo, and Trippie Redd to name a few, and many more artists will be announced soon. Click here to purchase tickets!
