YetepIn September, Lane 8 announced the news of his third album, Brightest Lights, to be released in January 2020. With the announcement came the inspiring message, “We are so bombarded with negative energy these days that it is sometimes easy to forget all the beautiful and positive things that happen every day. however small or seemingly insignificant, Brightest Lights is about celebrating and embracing the ups and downs of life and trying to see the world in a positive light.”
Since then, Lane 8 has steadily been releasing singles ahead of the album, starting with the beautifully heartfelt title track, followed by “Sunday Song” and “Don’t Let Me Go.” This week, he’s dropped yet another single from the forthcoming album, “The Gift.” Hit play to check it out below.
This track is reminiscent of Lane 8’s classic sound, with a deep house rhythm set behind dreamy vocal chops. About halfway through, the synths take over for an intriguing shift in energy. “The Gift” presents a bit of a darker soundscape compared to the last three releases off the upcoming album.
Don’t miss Lane 8 when he stops at The Van Buren in Phoenix on March 14th for his Brightest Lights Tour. Click here to purchase tickets.
