YetepElectronic music duo, The Knocks, have been on a musical roll this summer and their latest release is no exception. From “Summer Luv” with Whethan featuring Crystal Fighters to “Exit Sign” featuring Gallant, every song The Knocks have given us is a nu-disco masterpiece. For their final summer single, The Knocks might have just saved the best for last, “Lucky Me” featuring Great Good Fine Ok.
“Lucky Me” is bright, positive, and a perfect “feel good” song. Soulful vocals sing about finding peace in the uncertainty of life and how sometimes we need to simply let go of our fears. The upbeat lyrics alongside electro-pop vocal chops make for an encouraging, yet dance-able track that will inspire you to push aside your self-doubt. “Lucky Me” has a similar nu-disco, indie-electro breakdown as The Knock’s hit single from 2018, “Ride Or Die” featuring Foster the People, and the two songs share a common optimistic tone. The Knocks have been working with quite a diverse group of artists this summer and Great Good Fine Ok go well with The Knock’s unique sound. “Lucky Me” is the last summer single of 2019 from the Knocks, but thankfully the duo has begun working on a third body of work that hopefully includes more bright collaborations like “Lucky Me”.
