YetepToday’s feature comes with a heavy meaning a new side to the always-upbeat producer, Dillon Francis. A little over a week ago, Dillon released a remix of Maroon 5’s “Memories,” a rather emotion-based track that focuses on morning, grief, and ultimately acceptance of losing someone close to us. In it’s true form it’s heartbreaking and yet optimistic but with the motive and the melody Francis applies to the song, it catapults the track to heartbreaking heights.
Francis has dedicated this remix to a late childhood friend who’s passing came far too soon. Upon posting the track, Francis says:
My best friend Noel Teacher Mor passed away a few months ago. She was fighting an aggressive malignant cancer for the second time. I made this video with her sister Kelly Teacher to honor and remember her. We were inseparable as young children. Our families spent literally every weekend together it felt like up until we were teenagers. She was one of the few people that believed me when i said “in 1 year I’ll be playing Coachella i promise” (it took 2 but who’s counting she believed me). She was one of my most cherished Well Wishers in my life. It pains me so much that i will not be able to do with her what our parents did with us. All the family trips, summer camps, holiday parties. You name it we were always together doing it. My Family, your family, Robs family, and your plethora of many friends love you so much Noel…rest in peace my soul sister. I’ll see you when the time is right.. we will go get tacobell and head to wherever telluride is in heaven. Furthermore on Sept 30th 2019 Noel left her physical form, her husband Rob Mor, and their beautiful daughter Leia. The ongoing legacy of Rob and Noel’s daughter Leia is my inspiration to write and request your generosity in supporting Noels greatest wish, which was to assure an education fund without her mothers presence.
Be sure to catch Dillon Francis at this year’s Decadence Arizona, taking place December 30th and 31st at Rawhide Event Center in Chandler. He’ll be taking the stage alongside Diplo, Zeds Dead, Skrillex, Tchami x Malaa, Griztronics, Illenium, and more. Grab tickets here!
