YetepMcKenzie Morrow, better known as Carbin, is an Austin, Texas-based producer who’s been curating crunching bass dubstep for over two years. His work in the studio has streamlined him into touring and acting as support for fellow DJs like ATLiens and Riot Ten. In addition, Carbin’s sound has skated across stages and out of speakers for festivals like Lost Lands and Dancefestopia. His meticulously crafted sound design has perked the ears of heavyweight artists like Excision, Zomboy, NGHTMRE, and others. Carbin is nimbly climbing his way to the top, easily making him a DJ to Watch. If you’re a fan of the hard-hitting bass style from Never Say Die’s Black Label, then Carbin’s established spot in the NSD family will be plainly obvious to you. His latest EP comes out this week, and you can sample his sound by listening to the title track “Throne” below.
Carbin’s carnivorous bass and snare will satiate the headbangers and those with an appreciation for bass. With both attention to the detail of his craft and a knowledge of how to keep the energy high during his sets, Carbin has all the mechanics to be a successful DJ. You can see for yourself when he crushes the crowd at Crush Arizona on Valentine’s Day, February 14th. You can get your tickets here… and who said Valentine’s Day sets had to be romantic?
