YetepLA-based Kayzo is back again with another collaborative single, this time with bass prodigy Ray Volpe. The two have come together to unveil a quietly energetic piece that’ll have the crowd bouncing then raging then bouncing again. “Ghost in the Bottle” is among the wide range of productions, for both Kayzo and Ray Volpe, that takes listeners on a journey of melody, rhythm, and tempo fluctuations. Kayzo’s genre-mix of rock, punk, and electronic matches with Volpe’s melodious synths and flexing bass, the two capture a structure that haunts listeners, but in an enticing way. “Ghost in the Bottle” opens with a choppy happy hardcore that radiates a phantasm of energy before dishing out a neck-snapping drop. The track glows ominously buoyant, while still offering a sinister taste of each of their styles. Out now on Welcome Records, listen below.
After Unleashed dropped last year and took acclaim from Billboard, Spin, Alternative Press and more, born Hayden Capuozzo has only followed with some impressive productions that truly showcase his ability to sync with others. Collabs with Lil Texas on “Rules of the Game,” Atreyu on “Battle Drums,” and Subtronics on “Braincase,” we get to add “Ghost in the Bottle” with Ray Volpe to the list. And Ray Volpe was a strong choice for a track that highlights the rhythm and gently crosses over a melodic side before snatching us back into that magic bottle.
Whether you’re tapping along in the car or getting your whole body into the music, “Ghost in the Bottle” is ready to emerge and possess its listeners. As new music keeps coming, we get to look forward to Kayzo’s set at Phoenix Lights on April 3rd or 4th and his Lights Out Tour stopping in Albuquerque on April 3rd.
