YetepHi I’m Ghost, a supernatural bass duo comprised of Nathan Davis and Tiago Nunez, is less of a name in heavy-hitting music and more of an entity that simply uses the two producers as a vessel for delivering dark dubstep. Their shadier takes on dub classics and unrelenting originals have been released on labels like Firepower Records, Dim Mak Records, Kannibalen Records, and Disciple Round Table and have been championed by seasoned leaders in the genre like Excision, NGHTMRE and Slander, Black Tiger Sex Machine, and 12th Planet. Hi I’m Ghost is ruthless with round after round of releases, with their most recent transcending single coming as a collaboration with Mt Eden called “Next Gen Riddim.” Listen below.
The collaborative effort of these relentless artists begins with an ominous, demanding voice that bellows orders as the build-up arrives. Back and forth switch up sounds that will undoubtedly drive audiences mad leads to an immediate descent into the drop, which is decidedly wet and aggressive. The overall effect is pounding and nearly ridiculous, but that’s exactly what riddim fans want, and that’s exactly why this track earns the title “Next Gen Riddim.”
Hi I’m Ghost will be haunting the dancefloor of AURA on April 17th. You can find tickets by clicking here.
