YetepGrammy-nominated cake-throwing DJ and producer Steve Aoki has a successful formula for how he does things. He cultivates a brand that’s comprised of deliciously chaotic live sets, high-profile remixes with A-list artists, and electro-indie releases on his label, Dim Mak Records. While he continues to produce collaborative bangers that top charts with legends like Backstreet Boys and Sting, he also maintains a steady presence in the EDM world with near-constant live shows and weekly episodes of his podcast, Aoki’s house. His most recent episode #341 is available to listen to below.
For awhile Steve Aoki was maintaining both a music-focused radio show Aoki’s House and a podcast of the same name, but now he’s shifted to pour his creative energy into solely the podcast. Podcasts offer a different insight that radio shows, which don’t highlight the non-musical perspectives of artists as obviously. Steve Aoki also features music from Brux, Trvcy, Steve Aoki himself and more. Whether each episode focuses more on the music or podcast-related elements, Aoki’s House is a reflection of the artist and the music itself.
Steve Aoki will be bringing his house to the El Rey Theater on April 6th and the Rialto Theatre on April 7th. Get tickets for the Albuquerque show here and the Tucson show here.
