YetepAnnouncing his first remix in over two years, Illenium revealed a surprise release of his take on Nirvana’s “Something in the Way.” He put his own spin on the Nirvana classic offering a different vibe than the familiar signature Illenium melodic bass sound. This remix reveals a darker side to Illenium’s music and has a mesmerizing, hypnotic feel to it. Listen below!
This surprise release came just before the drop of his Batman merch collection launched through Electric Family. Illenium collaborated with DC comics for this merch drop to commemorate the new Batman movie in theaters. The artist mentioned that he heard the Nirvana track when watching the recent Batman film and wanted to put his own spin on the song.
Illenium’s spellbinding remix on this timeless Nirvana song demonstrates the depth and versatility of his productions. This track has a slower and wavier feel to it compared to his recent releases. His dark, distorted take on the original song shows that Illenium can adapt his style to a variety of songs. What better way to hype up his Batman X Illenium merch collab than this epic surprise remix of a Nirvana classic!
