YetepWelcome back to your weekly dose of Remix Recall! This week our spotlight choice was pretty obvious. English electronic duo Disclosure have just released their latest remix of Sam Smith’s new collaboration with pop sensation Kim Petras for their track “Unholy”. Topping the Billboard Global Charts for three consecutive weeks, “Unholy” has become a viral TikTok trend and is quickly on its way to claiming a record-breaking number of streams. The new Disclosure remix comes shortly after celebrating the 10th anniversary of Sam Smith and Disclosure’s megahit “Latch”.
Check out Disclosure’s remix of Sam Smith’s “Unholy” featuring Kim Petras below:
“Unholy” is unreal. Sam Smith and Kim Petras have already created such an incredibly addictive anthem with their sultry and bass-heavy chorus. Disclosure then comes in ramping up the already precedent edginess of the record and pumping in some extra energy to produce the perfect club-ready remix. The change of pace and addition of a whole extra minute to the runtime prolongs this mischievous party for a bit longer. Listeners can find themselves reminded of the feelings of summertime or even their youth.
Of the release Sam Smith stated –
“I’m so honored to have a remix from them both. These guys don’t do anything they don’t like. You know, so it’s a real compliment when they do it” — “If you want something filthier than the original, then you go here!”
“Danny Howard’s Dance Party .” BBC SOUNDS.
Disclosure are undoubtedly hit-makers and this remix offers a beat that can stay on repeat. Some fans think that this could be the introduction of a new, darker Disclosure era. Only time will tell, but we’ll be here to find out.
