Welcome back to your weekly dose of Remix Recall! Kieran Hebden, better known as Four Tet, recently released his remix of Chris Lake’s viral Coachella hit “In The Yuma.” Four Tet has been credited for some of this year’s most magical and memorable moments in dance music. Four Tet’s beautiful remake swaps out the original’s symphonic piano and slow-morphing rhythms for a funky house production, brimming with charisma and attitude. Not a touch of country riddim in sight! The remix proved to be a massive danceable groove when it first debuted during Four Tet B2B Skrillex B2B Fred again.. during this year’s Coachella.
Inspired by his 2019 Coachella performance at the iconic Yuma Tent, Chris Lake first started working on the single during quarantine and shared it last November. Four Tet chops Aatig’s sultry vocals in the original creating the perfect arrangement for his classic house beat. Aatig has contributed to some of the biggest hits in dance music, including her most recent collaboration “Take It Off” with FISHER. These releases have earned her multiple RIAA gold records and a GRAMMY nomination.
