Nostalgix & WHIPPED CREAM Release Dream Monstercat Collaboration, ‘I AM A GOD’

Nostalgix and WHIPPED CREAM, two absolute LEGENDS of the Canadian EDM scene are OFFICIALLY teaming up to bring us a highly-anticipated techno collaboration, known as “I AM A GOD,” Nostalgix is best known for her confidence, self assurance, and her high-energy tracks and live sets. Performing major festival slots and on The Star City Tour earlier this year, complete with a stunning performance at Sunbar Tempe. WHIPPED CREAM recently released the STUNNING and emotional EP, is this real? In addition to announcing a headlining tour with a stop at Darkstar Tempe on Saturday November 2nd. “I AM A GOD” begins with digital splash effects, thumping drums, and a swinging techno bassline. Nostalgix is up first on vocal duty. Entering the frame to get things going right out of the gate. “Forget. Let go. Don’t fear. The unknown. Heaven. and hell. Don’t speak. I’ll tell. I AM A GOD!” As a spidery loop weaves an intricate auditory web within the track. With the drums and bass maintaining the heavy beat throughout. Clap effects bounce off of the rhythm section with ease as the arachnid-like synth keeps bumping. WHIPPED CREAM’s cerebral trademark vocals dance with intense sweep effects and bombastic, creeping drum fills. Nostalgix repeats the track’s title over subtle hi hats and revving synth bars. The hi hats morph into techno kicks and bass.

The spidery loop makes a grand return over a foundation of kicks and hi hats. Menacing walls of bass crash in and out. Compressing the other elements together and apart at will. The dark and menacing sound of the track is well accented by WHIPPED CREAM’s haunting ooooo’s. The subtlety of the vocals and large focus on instrumentation help make make this an epic journey through sound. There is even a bit of WHIPPED CREAM’s signature hip-hop bounce contained within the foundation of “I AM A GOD.” Truly combining the strengths of both artists with an added techno paint scheme. As a massive fan of both collaborating artists and techno, this is a dream collaboration that is sure to GO OFF in a live setting. Nostalgix is from Vancouver too, and although our music sonically sounds different, I have always been a huge fan of her energy and performances. I was very excited to get in the room with her. The first day we started this song it flowed together so well we were both high off the vibe we had created together. So stoked to drop this.”
