YetepIf there’s one track soundtracking the peak of summer right now, it’s “Blackberries,” the brand new collab between FISHER and rising star bbyclose. Built around a juicy rolling bassline, shimmering synths, and bright, wavey pads, this one is pure heat. Add bbyclose’s infectious vocals into the mix and you’ve got a certified summer anthem that’s already lighting up dancefloors around the world. “Blackberries” is out now via FISHER’s Catch & Release.
Bbyclose says, “‘I think I met you in a dream last night’ was a line that I had written down in my little red book of ideas for a couple months. We were in the studio one day and my co writer Stevie Appleton was playing these sick chords on the piano and the line came back to me. It was a super hot sunny day in London and we sat outside finessing the lyrics and Blackberries came to be. Fun fact, the song almost ended up being called Wasabi.”
Thankfully, “Blackberries” stuck, and it’s been making the rounds at massive clubs like [UNVRS] in Ibiza, where FISHER’s Thursday residency is in full swing. Alongside his tracks like “Stay” and “Take It Off,” he’s been inviting top-tier talent like Marlon Hoffstadt, Sammy Virji, and Michael Bibi to take over the decks in the 10,000-cap venue. Beyond the White Isle, FISHER has closed Electric Forest in Michigan, ignited Solidays in Paris, and is gearing up for milestone gigs: FISHER on the Thames at London’s Old Royal Naval College (sold out) and a massive Warehouse Project takeover on September 20.
Bbyclose is the perfect partner for this slice of summer bliss. Her breakout hit “Kisses” has cleared 400 million streams, spent 11 weeks in the UK Top 10, and sat at #1 on Australia’s dance chart for 18 straight weeks. With collaborations spanning Sub Focus (“On & On”), Alok and Alan Fitzpatrick (“Friday I’m In Luv”), and Felix Jaehn (“Dream Come True”), she’s carving out must-hear territory in every sub-genre she touches. “Blackberries” proves the chemistry is real—and if the early club reaction is any indicator, expect this track to ripple straight through festival season and into every end-of-summer playlist.
