YetepWelcome back to all the feral riddim rats who always bring the best energy to every dubstep show. It is all thanks to the amazing fans like you that keep the genre going, expanding, and bringing the highest knees to every show.
Surprisingly, one of the hottest names in the genre that so many of us know as riddim has been one of the biggest advocates to rename it. Riddim, which is also known as trench, was the center of one of the biggest debates of the last few years when French artists such as Infekt and SampliFire sought to change the name of the genre for good. I am not here to argue or advocate for either side, but just enjoy that the crazy dubstep music I love is growing in popularity and attracting new fans. As the trench genre continues to grow, so do some of the genre’s founding members. Infekt has had one of the most impressive and potentially the most impactful years of his career. The biggest accomplishment from his amazing year includes launching his very own record label, Port Zero. After signing some of the best and brightest up and coming stars, Infekt set out to build his brand and grow his label and what better way to do that then linking with Mad Dubz.
These two are some of the fastest growing names in trench, and for good reason. The two have lined up for an insane new single on Infekt’s newest EP, Drop It. Mad Dubz joined Infekt for the title track, which is turning into one of the hottest tracks of the summer. Released on Port Zero, Infekt’s choppy trench sound is written all over this single. It is accompanied perfectly by the insanity that is Mad Dubz. Clearly one of the next to stamp his unique signature in the genre, Mad Dubz is a name you are not going to forget. If you want to go absolutely feral with your homies, Mad Dubz is joined by Automhate this weekend as we welcome Wooli to Rawhide. Get your tickets HERE while they last and I look forward to seeing all the riddim rats in the mosh pit this weekend.
